Have you ever tried to apply fake eyelashes but they wouldn’t stay? Did they look too big? Or you just couldn’t get them on in the first place? Don’t worry, we have all been there. Follow this fail safe guide for perfect false lashes…
Step 1: Make sure your eyes are clean, or at least free of oil-based products. If you start with makeup remover, choose an oil-free version. The glue and oil are not good friends (it won’t stick), so for the best results go for oil-free products.
Step 2: Line your upper lash line with black liquid eyeliner as this will help disguise the thin band at the base of most false eyelashes. It’s also easier to do this now before you’ve got your falsies on.
Step 3: Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler so they blend with your false lashes and apply some lengthening mascara.
Step 4: If your false lashes are too long for your upper lash line, trim away the excess from the ends until they fit the shape of your eyes. Ideally they should stop a few millimeters from the outer corner of your eye.
Step 5: Apply a thin line of eyelash adhesive glue to the band at the base of the lashes. Never put the glue on your own eyelid! Wait for a minute so glue becomes tacky.
Step 6: Place the lashes as close to your lash line as possible, starting from the inside and working your way out. You can use tweezers for better precision.
Step 7: Repeat on the other eye!
