The man bun is taking over Hollywood!
According to the New York Times, the man bun is growing in popularity, and even the most manly dudes are giving it a go. Sure, it’s one way to get a guy’s longer hair off his face, but it seems to say something about a man: I’m artsy and I’m not afraid to explore new things with my hands. Of course, there are definitely dudes out there who would only try the man bun after too many rounds of beer—and even then, only in the privacy of their own home.
I’m on the fence: It looks hot on some guys and kinda girlie on others, and a man definitely needs loads of confidence to pull it off.
So if you do have flowing long locks and want to give this trend a go, her’s how:
Step 1: Work a styling cream through wet or dry hair to tame flyaways.
Step 2: Rake the hair back and up with your fingers. This will keep it from looking like a ballerina bun.
Step 3: Twist the hair into a rope and roll it into a circle at the crown.
Step 4: Wrap a black elastic band around the bun a few times to secure it in place.
