We talk beauty and healthy living with the ridiculously beautiful Libby Matthews, one half of the blog Julia and Libby and lover of everything that nourishes the body, mind and soul.
How would you describe your personal style, fashion and beauty wise?
My style is very relaxed, I am at uni most days so I like to be comfortable. On a typical day I will wear jeans, a singlet, Nikes and a bright bag.
What five products can’t you live without?
1- My GHD, my hair is naturally curly so its nice to have straight hair for a change every once in a while.
2- Mac Studio sculpt foundation, I use this most days and it stays on all day and doesn’t dry out my skin or make it oily.
4- ‘White Gold’ Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, I use this as a skin moisturiser, it helps keep my skin hydrated. I also use it on my hair, it’s an excellent conditioner and helps in the renewal of damaged hair. I apply it to dry hair before going to bed and wash it out in the morning,
5- ‘Eco Tan’ Invisible Tan. This is an organic fake tan that contains no nasty chemicals or ingredients. If I’m going out for dinner I will use this product so I have a natural looking tan and it doesn’t leave any streaks.
What does your skincare routine consist of?
I cleanse and moisturise morning and night and moisturise with coconut oil every second day.
Best trick to brighten up a morning after face?
MAC Mineralize Skin finish, its easy to apply and covers up any blemishes.
How do you stay healthy?
I stick to a wholefoods diet which consists of fruit, vegetables, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, dried fruit and if I eat meat I will have organic chicken or wild salmon. I have a green smoothie and coconut water daily and I always drink 2L of water, I never drink alcohol or smoke. I walk for an hour a day and meditate and do yoga weekly.
What are your thoughts on plastic surgery?
Personally I wouldn’t get plastic surgery, but I think if its going to give someone more confidence and make them feel better about themselves then I don’t see why not, as long as its not over done.
Who is your beauty icon and why?
Rihanna is so beautiful, she seems to never run out of ideas for switching up her style, she can pull off any look and she always looks flawless.
What has been your biggest beauty disaster?
When I was obsessed with the Spice Girls I also became obsessed with glitter hair spray, hair crimping and bright coloured, badly applied eye shadow.
What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever been given?
Be comfortable in your own skin.
How do you treat yourself?
By going out for a nice dinner or getting a massage.
