M.A.C Cosmetics Launches A BB Cream

M.A.C Cosmetics has just launched their very first BB Cream, the Prep + Prime Beauty Balm which is available in a SPF 35 cream tube or a SPF 30 cream compact. We were lucky enough to get the goss from James Molloy, Regional Director of Make Up Artistry Asia-Pacific for M.A.C Cosmetics about this amazing new product.

What is the benefit/advantage of using a BB Cream? Why should someone incorporate another product, ie BB Cream, into their beauty regime?
The main benefit is that this is a truly multi-purpose product. It provides hydration, SPF protection, blurs fine lines and pores all with a super lightweight texture.

At what step of your beauty regime should BB Cream be incorporated? What products would you recommend using under and over BB Cream?
Think of BB cream as your replacement to foundation, it shouldn’t be worn with foundation. You can add this to your usual skin care and priming regime. If you desire more coverage add concealer where needed. This really is a product for women who like to see their skin but want to enhance the texture and brightness.

What is the main difference between the BB Cream Compact and the BB Cream Tube?
The main difference is the convenience that a compact brings, the ability to be able to touch up on the go which hasn’t been seen in other prestige BB brands. The compact is also a little more creamy to the touch and has more glide on the skin.

What skin types are the BB Creams best suited to?
BB cream is designed to suit all skin types but I especially like it on a dehydrated skin or skin that is a little dull. The main reason being is the finish; BB adds a luster to the skin giving a plumped effect.

The Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm Compact SPF 30 RRP $64.00 delivers SPF protection in a solid cream, packaged in a mirrored compact and is available in three semi-translucent shades. The Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35 RRP $64.00 is also available in three semi-translucent shades covering extra-light to medium skin tones.
