Sebastian Professional X Stephen Marr NZFW 2012 – Tuesday

Sebastian Professional have teamed up with Stephen Marr to create the perfect runway hair for 8 of the shows at New Zealand Fashion Week. We spoke to Stephen Marr’s Creative Director, Lauren Gunn, to find out the inspiration behind the runway hair looks for Tuesday’s shows. Check out Wednesday’s look here.

I’d describe Coop’s show as electrical! It is classic but hip – I love how upbeat it is. It combines classy, feminine fabrics and lines with super cool features, like neon. My inspiration for the hair is a superhero electro girl. Her hair is modern and elongated – not curly but not straight, waxy shiny, but not boofy. I used Sebastian Professional Craft Clay and Sebastian Professional Trilliant Shine Spray.
Hot tip:
Mix wax and shine serum together and run through the hair. Be adventurous!

The hair for Hailwood is a beautiful 70’s blow dry. The part was slightly off centre and we featured a soft wave on a front piece. I used lots of Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper Hairspray and Sebastian Professional Trilliant Spray
Hot tip:
Move your part slightly off centre and use a curling tong to smooth the hair flat near the parting. To create a soft wave for a piece of hair at the front, bend the hair upwards over the tong. Brush, brush, brush! With an amazing brush – I used a flat-ball bristle brush.

The Juliette show featured modern 60’s looks – clean lines, beautiful and feminine. The hair look was ingénue – like a 17 year old in the 60’s – hardly any product and a clean silhouette. I used Sebastian Professional Halo Mist and Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper.
Hot tip:
Apply Sebastian Professional Halo Mist for a no-product-look shine.
